any tips on how i can move to Europe? why would i want to stay in this increasingly right wing, ignoramus country of selfish consumers? there are some amazing people here i would really miss and i dearly love this land but there is less and less i care for in American culture and the foundation of rights, values, visions, etc. that I once believed was what made America great is turning out to be all talk (sorta like a lot of New Agers I know) and I am fucking disgusted with it. I would rather bail than end up in jail or a corporate slave. help!

Re: seriously wanting to leave
Sat, January 22, 2005 - 7:54 AMWell it will mean you being an illegal immigrant for a while and having to do crappy work (bars etc), but it is not imposssible, but you'd need to have a bit of capital to bring with you to tide you over until you are established. Alternatively, you can play the political asylum card!!! -

Tue, January 25, 2005 - 12:02 AMYeah, I like that idea, well, thanks and I will be looking into it. For now I need to find work here, ugh, not really wanting to but alternatively not into being broke anymore either. -

Re: seriously wanting to leave
Tue, January 25, 2005 - 3:20 AMAnother country you can look into is where my wife and I are moving to and this is Belize. It's a small Central American country that is english speaking, the money exchange is 2 Belizian dollars to each U.S. dollar. You can rent a 3 bedroom house on the beach with maid service for about $400 to $500 U.S. and total cost of living for the average person wanting to move there is about $1000 a month or $2000 if you want to live out on one of their off coast islands. If you get a work visa and you are at all any good at working on a computer, there is a good chance of getting work with the local government or businesses who are desperate for people who can do that type of work.
